Mildred Clark Burton, 88, a resident of Arnold for 39 years, died of pneumonia July 15 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a six-week illness.

A homemaker who was dedicated to her family, Mrs. Burton was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Baltimore, and raised in Harmans. She resided in Linthicum for 17 years and graduated from Glen Burnie High School.

Her interests included American history, cooking, gardening and travel.

Her husband, Leonard Burton III, a retired vice president of manufacturing for Nevamar Decorative Services, died Jan. 20.

Survivors include one son, Leonard Burton IV of Bowie; two daughters, Kathleen Holland and Jeanne Harrison of Severna Park; one sister, Dorothy Booth of Linthicum; two brothers, Howard Clark of Needham, Mass., and William Champ Clark of Linthicum; and four grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Wilmer and Edwin Clark.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be on Wednesday at a time to be announced at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
