Mildred Catherine Baker, 86, of Revell Downs in Annapolis and Lewes, Del., died of cancer Feb. 27 at her home in Revell Downs after a brief illness.
Mrs. Baker was born Nov. 15, 1920, and reared in Baltimore. She retired from the state of Maryland, having worked in the State Income Tax Division.
She enjoyed her family, reading, the beach and shopping.
The widow of Richard D. Baker, she is survived by her children, Robert Baker of Arnold, Peggy Murchake of Annapolis, Joan Brown of Lewes and Richard D. Baker Jr. of Mardela Springs in Wicomico County; two siblings, Joseph Nelson and Gertrude Grymes of Delaware; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late William F. Evans.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway near Cape St. Claire. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made to
