Michael B. "Mike" Rodbell, 72, died on June 3 from cancer, which he bravely fought for 20 months. He was a resident of Annapolis for over 40 years and was a native Marylander. He was born on July 3, 1936 on the Eastern Shore and was raised in Baltimore. He graduated from Baltimore City College and The University of Baltimore. He was an Eagle Scout and a former Scoutmaster of Troop 783 in Cape St. Claire. He was a member of the Maryland National Guard from 1954 – 1962. He spent many years working in the transportation field and was a licensed real estate broker for over 45 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife using his timeshare weeks. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise in Alaska in September 2007.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife Doris Glick Rodbell, daughter Marci Ponton of Silver Spring, daughter Patti Rodbell Borland and Tim Borland of Annapolis and son Larry and Robin Rodbell of Annapolis and 5 grandchildren and 1 grand-dogter. He was preceded in death by his son Edward Rodbell who died in 2001.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Boy Scouts of America Baltimore Council 701 Wyman Park Drive Baltimore, MD 21211.

Funeral will be private. The family will be celebrating his wonderful life with an open house.
