Robinson
December 30, 1962 – April 23, 2021
On Friday, April 23, 2021 Michael David Robinson, loving husband and father of four, passed away at the age of 58.
Mike was born on December 30, 1962 to John and Leslie Robinson, the youngest of four brothers. He received his bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia in 1985, and his MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1996. He practiced engineering at The DEI Group for 31 years.
Mike married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Laura on March 7, 1987. Mike and Laura raised two sons, Ryan and Tim, and two daughters, Kelli and Kerri. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Natalie and Alistair, whom he adored.
Mike took pleasure in the life he and Laura built. He loved spending time with family, including family vacations around the US. He enjoyed his work at DEI where he was the "heart and center" of his work family. He enjoyed gardening and do-it-yourself projects around the house. He was an avid UVA sports fan, and loved to tailgate with his lifelong college friends. He was the grill master at large family gatherings hosted at the Robinson home. Over the years he enthusiastically volunteered at church with youth group, marriage prep, and work camp.
