Michael "Scott" Murphy, Sr., a resident of Annapolis, died suddenly on July 26, 2014, in Virginia.
He was born on March 25, 1967 in Maryland and was raised in Howard County, graduating from Atholton High School.
Scott was a Sr. Project Manager of W.E. Bowers/ Steamfitter Local 602.
He was a member of the Free Riders Independent Motorcycle Club; Severna Park Baptist Church; and was an avid Steelers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Murphy of Annapolis; two sons, Michael Scott Murphy, Jr. of Annapolis and Jonathan Cole Murphy of San Diego, CA; his parents, Elizabeth Murphy of Chester, MD and Dennis Murphy of Northridge, CA; and one sister, Shannon Baxley of Laurel, MD.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10:00 am in Severna Park Baptist Church, 506 Benfield Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
A reception will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 175, 832 Manhattan Beach Rd, Severna Park, MD 21146.
