Commander Michael F. Martino 1948 – 2017

Michael F. Martino passed away on August 18, 2017 at the Household of Angels Assisted Living Community in Severna Park, Maryland.  He is survived by his sisters Monica, Marna, and Madelaine.  His stepbrother Gary passed away last spring.  His children are CDR Christopher Martino and daughter in-law Laura, Ms. Kate Martino, and Dr. Elizabeth Martino.  His grandchildren are Caisey, Augustus, and Francesca.  He was raised in Belleville, Illinois.  He graduated from Althoff Catholic High School in 1966.  He was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy upon graduation from USNA with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. He received two Master of Science Degrees, one from Princeton University and a second from the University of West Florida.  He retired from the United States Naval Reserves with the rank of Commander.  After serving as an aviator in the U. S. Navy, he worked for a couple of international companies including Exxon, Allied Signal, and Pathfinder, Inc.

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 10, 2017 at 10:00am in the US Naval Academy Chapel 121 Blake Rd. Annapolis, MD 21401. Followed by interment in the US Naval Academy Columbarium.
