Michael Stephan Lissau, age 69, of Severna Park, passed away peacefully with his children by his side on Sunday December 4 ^th .

Born to Melvin and Dorothy Lissau in Baltimore, MD on January 13 ^th , 1953. He was raised in Severna Park, MD and was a graduate of Severna Park High School.

Michael was a painter by trade and always enjoyed working with his hands. Growing up, he was an avid swimmer and loved all things water. He lived or many years on Kent Island, MD but returned to Severna Park to care for his mother and brother. Michael was a selfless man and all who knew him considered him a friend.  He lived for his children and his family. He loved fishing, crabbing, shelling, and anything to do with the beach and the water. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and especially loved his trips to Key West, FL.  You could find him most days at the Olde Severna Park beach walking the shore looking for crabs and driftwood or fishing from the pier. Michael also enjoyed gardening and making creative things, especially with his driftwood finds. Most of all, Michael enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin S. Lissau, Sr. and Dorothy M. Lissau and his sister Donna M. Peterson.

Lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jessica Balay (Lissau) and husband John Balay, his son Michael N. Lissau and wife Laura Lissau. He has 5 grandchildren, Anna Balay, Andrew Balay, Maxwell Lissau, Jemma Lissau and Magnolia Lissau. In addition, he is remembered by his brothers Melvin Lissau and Donald Lissau along with his numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
