Michael was born November 12, 1954 in Baltimore, the youngest of 7 children (6 boys and 1 girl) to William and Helen Dixon. He grew up in Aberdeen, Maryland where he developed a love of the water and moving fast; owning multiple boats, motorcycles and cars. As he grew older he found his calling in being a salesman. Having the ability to talk to anyone and make a deal wherever he went, it was no surprise that this was the job for him.

He met his wife of 36 years, Helena, on a tiny prop plane that wouldn't start in New York. She was the flight attendant. His first words to her were "I want to get off of this plane." Despite this rough start, they were married in 1985 and lived around the country, eventually settling in Severna Park, Maryland after their boat ran aground in the Magothy River and they realized how nice of an area it was.

Michael loved his life on the water with his boat, the house he built, his dogs, and most importantly his family. In 1992 he and his wife Helena welcomed into the world their twin daughters.

He was a supportive husband and father who loved his family and friends more than anything. He loved boating, golfing, restoring his '69 Cutlass Oldsmobile and going on adventures with his family and his beloved dogs. He also loved watching and cheering for the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, even taking his family to New Orleans to see the Ravens win the Super Bowl in 2013. After retirement he was able to golf as much as he wanted and was able to achieve his dream of buying a home in Florida. He was always there to help his family (and give his opinion) on anything they ever needed.

Michael passed peacefully at home on October 25th due to complications of leukemia. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Helen Dixon and by his eldest brother, Willam (Bill) Dixon Jr.. He is survived by his wife Helena, daughters Kirsti Dixon (Matt Bennett) and Leila Fishel (Stephen Fishel), and his remaining siblings: (Judi), Jack (Sharon), Louis (Judi), Susan (Robert), Joe (Jennie Sue), and Richard (Teresa).

A memorial gathering for Michael will be held on his upcoming birthday, November 12th, at Barranco Funeral Home from 1-4pm with a short ceremony at 4pm.
