Merle Alan Lebowitz died October 13th, 2020 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center from natural causes.

He was born in McKeesport PA on July 29th, 1943, the third child of Ruth McGowan and Morris Lebowitz. Merle attended McKeesport High School and Youngstown State. He rose to a vice president position with the Hecht Company department stores before creating two successful businesses of his own; Annapolis Clothing Company and Press Express.

Merle enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and rooting for Washington sports teams. Never one to sit still, Merle printed notepads that read "Do It" long before Nike stole his idea. He loved to get out to "do it"- no matter what "it" may have been. Recently he relished helping care for his youngest grandchildren.

Merle's family was his greatest pride, he provided love and stability during times of uncertainty and challenge. He was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne and grandson Owen. Merle is survived by Andrew (Pamela) and Matthew (Claudia) from his marriage to Claudia Winter. And Jonathan (Julia), Jenny Walters (John) and Elizabeth Connelly (Doug) from his marriage to Suzanne. His grandchildren Jacob, Alexander, Abigail, Mabel, Sophia, Riley, and Brooke have carried Merle's strength, intelligence and humor further into this world.

Merle attended St Martin's-in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Severna Park MD. Private burial to be performed by the Reverend Matthew Hanisian. Services to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ( lls.org ) or ALS Association ( als.org ).
