Mayme J. Jauhlanen Vander Hook, 82, a resident of Severna Park since 1964, died of cancer July 1 at her home.
Born Dec. 30, 1923, in Republic, Mich., Mrs. Vander Hook was reared in Iron River, Mich., and served in the Army during World War II.
She was a homemaker and member of the Severna Park United Methodist Church. Her interests included ceramics, painting, scrap booking and reading.
The widow of Cornelius "Van" W. Vander Hook, she is survived by two sons, Dennis M. Vander Hook of West Hills, Calif., and Glenn D. Vander Hook of Severna Park; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Memorial services will be held at noon Friday at Severna Park United Methodist Church, 731 Benfield Road. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
