Maxine Batie Cunningham, of Annapolis, passed away on October 22, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Albert and Caroline Batie on May 13, 1921 in Cumberland, MD. Raised in Cumberland, she also lived in Laurel, MD and Beltsville, MD before residing in Annapolis for the past 46 years. Maxine attended Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD, and then studied at Towson University for her undergraduate work, and then earned her Master's in Education at The University of Maryland. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher and then Principal for Prince George's County Public Schools for 40 years before retiring. She then worked as a secretary for Delegate Sheila Hixon for 23 years after her retirement. She also volunteered for Anne Arundel Medical Center for 7 years. Maxine enjoyed duckpin bowling and going on cruises in her younger years. Later in life, she enjoyed talking to her friends on the phone, dining out and watching the show Bonanza.

She is survived by her children, Carole Brady (Thomas) of Odenton, MD, and William Grimm (Rosemary) of Pasadena, MD; her grandchildren, Kathryn Burroughs (Christopher) of Annapolis, MD, Jason Brady (Tabitha) of Ranson, WV, Matthew Brady of Simpsonville, SC, Alan Brady of Eastport, MD, Krystal Brady of Davidsonville, MD, Sara Gaumbana (Alex) of East Norriton, PA, Kathryn Grimm (Katie Carr) of Catonsville, MD, and as well as 9 beloved great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 1-4pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD, 21146.
