Maureen Denise Jones (nee Mulherin), 80, of Deerfield Beach, FL and Annapolis, MD passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023, at her home in Annapolis, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on December 30, 1942 in Baltimore, MD to her late parents John and Gertrude Mulherin. Maureen was raised in Brooklyn Park. She previously resided in Curtis Bay, Glen Burnie, and was a longtime resident of Millersville, MD.
Maureen attended St. Rose of Lima in Brooklyn and graduated from Seton High School. She was very active in the Catholic Youth Organization where she met the love of her life, Thomas E. Jones, who lovingly referred to her as "Queenie".
After graduation from high school she worked at Koppers Company and Maryland National Bank. After raising her four children Maureen worked as an administrator at Valley Lighting, the family's business.
Maureen was a member of White Rocks Yacht Club, Our Lady of the Fields, and a volunteer at Severna Park Library. She enjoyed sewing and dancing in jitterbug contests with her brother Michael. Maureen also loved spending time at her home in Ocean City and deep sea fishing with her family on the Kingfisher.
Maureen was the beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Jones and she is survived by her loving children, Kathy Deppe (Ted), Tommy (Julie), Greg (Heidi), and Michelle Lillie (Jon), and eight wonderful grandchildren, Lauren, Marina, Madison, Alexandra, Kelsey, Ezra, Aiden, and Iris. She was the dear sister of the late Michael J. Mulherin, the late Janet Epley, Robert J. Mulherin and Kathleen M. Smith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue S., Millersville, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
