With deepest sorrow, we announce that Matthew Tobey Eveleth, 37, resident of Baltimore, MD, beloved son, fiancé, brother, uncle, friend and coach, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 29, 2021 after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is the third of three beloved sons born to Brian Sr. and Naomi Eveleth on March 14, 1984 and raised in Severna Park, MD. Matthew graduated from Chesapeake Senior High School in 2002, where he was a three-time wrestling state champion. He then went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007, where he was a member of the wrestling team and EIWA champion. Most recently, Matthew was a cybersecurity sales consultant for the international company, Atos, earning top sales honors in 2020.

Although Matthew's life was cut way too short, those who knew him, know that he lived it to the fullest and touched the lives of so many people during the time that he was with us. He truly loved people and would light up a room with his positive energy, charismatic personality and big smile, making life more fun for anyone that met him. Matthew had an illustrious wrestling career and was passionate about giving back to the community through coaching wrestling at the high school and youth level. Not only did he teach the young people he coached how to become better wrestlers but more importantly, he cared about teaching them life lessons and helping them become better people. Matthew did not have children of his own, but he loved being around them. Whether it was his nieces and nephews, his friends' children, neighborhood children or children that he coached, they brought a smile to his face and all seemed to be attracted to him like a magnet. He also had a true love for the water, especially being out on his boat, the Dash. He was an avid skier and loved following the Ravens and Orioles.

A diagnosis of cancer never defined Matthew. He was so inspirational as he continued to live his life and fight cancer with such a positive attitude and mental toughness to the very end. Matthew lived life at full throttle, packing an incredible amount of life into a short time and this world will not be the same without him.

Matthew is survived by his parents; fiancé Kathryn Seidman; brother Brian Eveleth, Jr. and his wife Amy and their children Toby, Andrew and Natalie; brother Jeffrey Eveleth and his wife Asahi and their children Kamryn, Molly and Charlie; along with other family and countless friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents Charlie and Elizabeth Eveleth and Harry and Thelma Pollock.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life for Matthew Tobey Eveleth at Kurtz's Beach in Pasadena, MD on August 28th from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Additional details will be available on the Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home web page.
