Mary Zelin passed away peacefully on May 17, 2013 at her home in Severna Park, Maryland with her husband and son by her side.
Mary was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on March 29, 1927 to Helen and Thomas Ingham. She graduated from Holy Family High School and worked as a management consultant for the federal government until she married her husband, John. She then spent over 30 years as an American Red Cross volunteer in various military hospitals across the country and was the recipient of the Clara Barton medal which is the highest honor the Red Cross bestows on its volunteers.
Mary was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed listening and watching games whenever she had the chance, right up to her passing, but her family meant the most to her.
In addition to her husband, Col. (Ret) John Zelin, Mary leaves behind her son Michael, daughter- in-law Jeanna, and her cherished grandson Daniel Zelin of Chandler, Arizona. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, and friends all over the country. She was predeceased by her sister Helen Marr.
