On the morning of August 17th 2023, Mary "Nanny" Patricia Woods (Corwell) passed away peacefully in her residence surrounded by her children. Born August 15th 1935 in Baltimore, MD. She spent her childhood in Severna Park, MD and graduated from Annapolis High School.

She was a United States Army wife to Billy Woods for 22 years and married for 53 years. This commitment took her and her family all around the world to include MD, NJ, GA, TX, OK, CO and Germany. After her husband's Army career she began her career, at the Severna Park post office, which she loved! Mary was a devoted Catholic and was well known at St. Johns the Evangelist here in Severna Park. Her passions included dancing (she could get footloose), traveling, going to the beach, cooking and baking. Many of us were fortunate enough to taste her creations and will never forget her cream puffs, brownies and the infamous "Guess What".

Her legacy will live on with her many family members who she loved and adored. Mary's four children, Mary Lee Hayes, Michael Woods, Theresa Samuel and Barbara Vasquez. Her Son in Laws Thomas Hayes and Dean Samuel Sr. Her Siblings, Diane Young (John) and Greg Corwell. Also her many grandchildren, Jaime Davis (Josh), Melanie Hein (Andrew), Dean Samuel Jr (Lauren), Brandon Samuel (Jennie), Zachary Woods, Dylan Woods and Jacob Pineda. Her Great Grandchildren, JJ Rezendes (Kiley), Matt Rezendes (Becca), Drew Hein, Tyler Hein, Seth Taylor, Ella Lee Samuel, Kelsey Samuel, June Samuel and Forrest Samuel. Her Great Great Grandchildren, Camden Lee Rezendes and Wyatt Rezendes. Niece and Nephews include, Colleen Corwell, Ron Corwell Jr, Jennifer Corwell, Matt Young and Lizzy Young.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A funeral service for Mary will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Crownsville Maryland Veteran Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD 21032.
