Mary Jane Walsh, 63, died Jan. 16 at her home in St. Margarets following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Mary Jane Morris on Aug. 29, 1941, in Waterbury, Conn., Mrs. Walsh graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Waterbury and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Boston College.
She was a nurse in the Washington, D.C., area and for many years was a public health nurse and coordinated the flu vaccine program in Bergen County, N.J.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, John P. Walsh; her children, John P. Walsh Jr. of San Francisco, Calif., Deirdre Walsh of Arlington, Va., and James Walsh of Rockville; a grandson, Colin Walsh of Rockville; and a sister, Margaret Hartley of Odenton.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, near Cape St. Claire. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
