Mary J. Verna, 90, a resident of Millersville, passed away on June 24, 2010 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Severna Park.
She was born to her parents, the late Matteo Passalacqua and the late Rose Corso Passalacqua on May 26, 1920 in Somerset, PA.
Mrs. Verna was preceded in death by her spouse of 42 years, LeRoy Verna and her sister, Carmella Pitzarella. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lee Barto (Richard) of Glen Burnie, MD and Susan Talarico (Joseph) of Concord, CA; her grandchildren, Kevin Barto of Prescott, AZ, Todd Barto (Allison) of Boulder, CO, Jeremy Talarico (Tristanne) of Concord, CA and Aubrie Talarico of Rome, Italy; and her great-granddaughter, Trevianna Barto of Boulder, CO.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Friday, June 25, 2010 from 4-7:00 pm. Interment will take place in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy. Annapolis, MD 21401 or Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, One Intrepid Square, West 46th St. and 12th Ave. New York, NY 10036.
