Mary A. Cook Vehrencamp (Nee: Stone), 91, of Severna Park, has gone to be with the Lord on April 1, 2010.
She was born to her parents, Frederick Jackson and Martha Jane Stone on May 25, 1918 in Clay, WV, where she was also raised. Mrs. Verhencamp was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved dancing, cooking, gardening, traveling, reading, and attending parties.
She is survived by her children, Fred Pritt and Shirley Cook Doty; her grandchildren: Robin Barrera, Tracy Mendecino (Frank), Kevin Griffin (Amy), Leah Cook VanHoose (Jason), Wendy Cook, Fred Pritt, Baron Pritt, and Steven Nash (Junelle); and her great grandchildren, Dorian, Nick, Matt, Luke, Alexander, Drew, Ryan, Lexi and Courtney.
She is also survived by her son-in-law, George and daughter-in-law, Lynda, her great friend, Sue Gearhart and her devoted caregiver, Bernice Kabiru.
Mrs. Vehrencamp was predeceased by her husbands, Clarence Pritt, Ted B. Cook and Charles (Bill) Vehrencamp, as well as, her son, Melvin (Mark) Cook.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 with the interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church or Hospice of the Chesapeake.
