Mary Lois Loyd Turner , R.N.

Mary Lois Loyd Turner, R.N. passed away at home with her loving husband Clement O'Neil Turner at her side. This followed her brave fight with lung cancer. She is the daughter of the late Harrison and Corliss Loyd, of Pageland, South Carolina. Mary was raised there, and met Clem when they were in third grade together at Pageland Elementary. They began dating at age 14, and the childhood sweethearts married in 1983.
A proud graduate of The University of South Carolina, Mary had a long and accomplished career as an R.N. Her early adventures as a traveling nurse took her from Vermont to Hawaii, and many points between. Mary had a well-deserved reputation as a highly skilled Operating Room Nurse.
Mary will be sorely missed by her husband, Clement. She also leaves behind her sister and brother-in-law Sandra and King Jackson of Monroe, N.C and their children( Missy, Scott and David and family), brother Michael Loyd and his sons (Travis and Austin), and sisters-in-law Janet and Patrick Howle and sons (Patrick and Steven), and Bettye and Leon Segars and sons (Scott and Robson and families). She is the sister of the late Stephen Loyd. Her many friends will miss her, and so will Bear.
A Memorial Service for Mary Lois Loyd Turner will be held this Thursday, June 03 at 3 PM, at St. George's Episcopal Church, 7010 Glenn Dale Road, Glenn Dale, MD 20769.
The funeral service will be held at a later date in South Carolina.
