Mary Jane Stefany a longtime resident of the Winchester on the Severn community, and recently of Palm Coast, FL and Arnold, MD died suddenly on October 30, 2016. Jane was a greatly loved wife, mother, and grandma. She was born in Lansford, PA on December 27, 1940 to the late Thomas and Helen Williams. Jane graduated from Lansford High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania where she met the love of her life – Rick. They soon married and started a family. Once her family had grown, Jane went back to school to earn her Nursing degree and served as a RN at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Anne Arundel Medical Center.
When they were stationed in Germany and then in Hawaii, she found a love of travel. In retirement, she enjoyed reading books, traveling the world and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She made a point of attending every soccer game, baseball game and school event she could. Jane volunteered at Flagler Hospital in Palm Coast, FL and at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. She was predeceased by her husband and partner of 53 years, Frederick (Rick) J. Stefany Jr. She is survived by her three children: Frederick "Jay" (Vivian) of Davidsonville, MD, Lynn (David) Buto of Annapolis, MD and Kathleen (Jon) Libby of Denver, CO; and seven wonderful grandchildren.
Friends may visit on Sunday November 6, 2016 from 3-6:00pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday November 7, 2016 at 11:00am in the St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway Annapolis, MD 21409. Interment at the MD Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD.
