Mary Genevieve Staines (Scally)

Gen Staines, a resident of Severna Park for 67 years died on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Gen Staines was born May 12, 1921 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, P. Raymond Staines, Jr in 1991; Son, P. Raymond Staines III in 2006; sister, Agnes Green; and two brothers, Reverend William "Pat" Scally and John "Buddy" Scally.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Staines, sons Barry Staines, Ron Staines and his wife Lauren Staines and daughter in law, Liz Carlin; Gen is also survived by her six grandchildren, Tim Staines (Natalie), Carrie Tilley (Matt), Ronnie Staines (Sarah), Billy Staines (Fowler), Ben Staines (Lea) and Mark Staines who will deliver the Eulogy and 9 great grandchildren.

Gen Staines loved being with her family and enjoyed attending their activities at Severn River Swim Club, Green Hornets, Severn School and The University of North Carolina. It is estimated that she attended many thousands of these games during her 95 years. She also worked in the admissions office of Anne Arundel Community College for 25 years when it was located at Severna Park High School and then Arnold.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10 am on Monday, November 28 ^th at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 681 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146.  The Family will greet guests beginning at 9 am at the church. Burial will be private.
