Mary Sue Sansone of Ridgley, formerly of Annapolis, was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Easton Memorial Hospital in Easton. She was 80.

Born July 26, 1934 in Madisonville, Tennessee, she was one of five children of the late William Gordon Carroll and Jennie Lee Carroll.
Mrs. Sansone was raised in Knoxville, TN, attended Young High School and later worked as a telephone operator for Bell South. During a vacation in Daytona Beach, FL in the summer of 1964 she met her husband-to-be, Marcus, and they married in June of 1965. The Sansones resided in Marcus' home state of Maryland, where Mary was a stay-at-home mother for many years, but later retired as a baker after providing desserts for several Annapolis-area restaurants.

Mary and Marcus raised five children in Annapolis and as a family spent outings on the Chesapeake Bay fishing, vacations in Tennesse and Florida and summers in Ocean City, MD. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, the computer game Farmville, and playing Scrabble. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Henry Sansone, daughter Tona (Marie) Harrison, her sister Helen, and her brothers William Gordon and Robert Stacy Carroll. She leaves behind her sister, Betty Carroll of Knoxville, TN; 2 sons, Marcus Sansone and wife Jennifer of Easton and Stacy Sansone and wife Sharon of Centreville; 2 daughters, Lisa Davis of Knoxville, TN and Gina Duvall and husband George of Ridgley; eleven grandchildren, Amy Harrison, Melanie Creswell, Melissa Spradlin, Mary Nichols, Meagan and Anthony Sansone, Erica Stradone, Billy Greer III, Brittany Sansone, and Stephanie and Ashley Duvall; and twelve great-grandchildren, Emma and Kylie Harrison, Blaise, Isaiah, Lillie and Josiah Creswell, Jordyn, Jenna and Jeremiah Spradlin, Danii Waters , Julia Stradone, and Aiden Ruiz.

Family will receive friends from 2-4pm & 6-8pm Monday, October 27th at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday October 28th at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home and interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn Park at 12:00pm.
