Mary Isobel Post (Marissa), 66, of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 3, 2017. Marissa was known for her generous spirit, contagious laugh, love of family and friends and her steadfast loyalty for the Giants and the Yankees. She adored singing and never missed calling on the birthdays of family and friends and breaking into a spirited rendition of Happy Birthday. With the love and support of her sister and her brothers, Marissa overcame many challenges and never wavered in her joy of life. She gave generously of her time to help those in need. Her love of children was readily apparent as she worked as a preschool aid for over 35 years at Severna Park United Methodist Church. She adored the children and they were a major part of her life. After retirement, Marissa assisted aging adults by dedicating time to Heartland Assisted Living where she helped set up for services for Catholic residents. Marissa was a devout Catholic who cherished her very personal relationship of absolute faith with God. She was devoted to her church, St. John the Evangelist, and served as a lay minister of communion. For ten years, she assisted with the kindergarten CCD program and class instruction. She expressed her love of both the church and music by singing with their funeral choir. Later this year, she would have become an associate sister of the Order of Sisters of St. Joseph. The church played an enormous role in Marissa's life and her family will be forever grateful that it welcomed her with such open arms. Marissa is survived by Jay and Arleen Post of Mountainside, NJ, John and Mary Post of Mountainside, NJ, Jerry and Cappi Post of Barrington, IL, Jim and Diane Post of Atlanta, GA and Ann and Tom Caton of Fairfax, VA, many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog Lucy. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Isobel Post of Severna Park, MD. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, July, 11, 2017 from 5-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. Interment will take place on Thursday July 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.
