Mary Martha Nicholson, 86, passed away on October 11, 2024 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena.

She was born on July 23, 1938 in Wilkins, WV to Arden and Mary Johnson (nee Childress), and was raised in Baltimore, MD and previously lived in Glen Burnie.

Mary graduated from Southern High School in Baltimore. She married Arvil "Reds" Nicholson on July 12, 1963.

She was employed at Marley Middle Scholl as a cook with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools, until her retirement. Mary enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, completing crossword puzzles, baking, and visits to the casino.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Reds, who passed away in 2011.

Mary is survived by her son, Mark Nicholson (Helene) of Severna Park; her three granddaughters Gabrielle Nunn (Brandon) of Severna Park, Hannah Brown (Todd) of Fort Mill, SC, and Olivia Nicholson of Severna Park.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10 AM at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
Interment is private.
