Mary Anne Mitchell, 84, a resident of Severna Park, died on February 20, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
She was born on April 30, 1927 in Huntington, WV, where she was raised. After completing two years of business college coursework, Mary Anne lived and worked in Coral Gables, FL. then worked in the U.S. Navy Annex, while living in Arlington, VA. There she met her now deceased husband. With her family, she moved several times, living in various locations including: Buenos Aires, Argentina, Stockholm, Sweden, Tehran, Iran, and Berne, Switzerland. Her final place of residence was in Severna Park, MD, where she was living with one of her children. She was a great and loving mother, and will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Mitchell, Anne Mitchell, and Valerie Sangster; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, March 4, 2012 and Monday, March 5, 2012 from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm on both days. Service and interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
