Mary Michele "Chele" Nutter, died on January 9, 2021 of complications stemming from her lifelong battle with Crohn's Disease. She was 58 years old.

Chele, who was born on Christmas Day in 1962, will be remembered above all things for her deep-seated kindness and compassion, particularly with children. Although she and her beloved husband, Mike, could not have their own children, they were instrumental in acting as parents to a neighbor's child, Tristen Auburger.

Chele had a strong love for life. She and Mike enjoyed snorkeling together, with Mike recalling, "She would still be paddling around in the water long after I'd gotten cold and gone back on the boat." The couple traveled the world to snorkeling destinations including Roatán-Islas De La Bahia in Honduras; Playa del Carmen in Mexico; the Great Barrier Reef of Australia; Hawaii; many times in Florida and their favorite destination, Anegada in the British Virgin Islands.

She was also very interested in history and enjoyed making trips to historical buildings, markers and sites in Maryland and around the U.S.

Chele was a graduate of the class of 1980 at Towson Catholic High School, where in addition to being an excellent student, she was active in a number of clubs and after-school pursuits, among these the school newspaper, yearbook and plays. Her post-prom party was the stuff of legend at the school and those students who attended still talk about the party to this day.

On the weekends as a teenager, she enjoyed various fun pursuits, including going to Orchard Ice Skating Rink with her friends.

"When doubles skate would be called and none of us had dates, Chele would run over to the first group of little boys she saw and ask if anyone wanted to skate with her. And did they ever – a pretty high school girl asking them to skate? They couldn't get on the ice with her fast enough," recalled Mary Helen Sprecher, a high school friend.

After high school, Chele attended Western Maryland College (now known as McDaniel College) where she studied journalism, as well as the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Her strong background and skill set in computer science drew her to the world of electronics. She worked in a number of companies, including Computerland and RoadNet but it was her time at Compuvision that would prove pivotal, for it was there that she met her future husband, Mike Nutter.

"We worked together and we met at the Hamfest one year. She came into work and I was already there and I saw her," recalls Mike fondly.

The two were married on September 29, 1991. Together, they established CNM Systems (short for Chele and Mike), specializing in computer sales, service, training and consulting.

Chele additionally provided computer support services to the National Federation of the Blind, located in South Baltimore, where she put her skills to work helping others less fortunate than herself.

Although she lived with Crohn's Disease her whole life, she remained upbeat and positive, even in the face of symptoms that often were painful and debilitating.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Nutter, and by the child they considered their daughter, Tristen Auburger. Other survivors include Chele's two brothers, Vincent Tito Greco, Jr. and Kenneth Harvey Greco; two brothers-in-law: Robert Nutter and his wife Linda, and David Nutter and his wife Jenna, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Stow. She is also survived by more than two dozen cousins, second cousins and other family members.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Vincent T. Greco Sr. and Janet Greco (nee Forster), as well as her father-in law and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Ann Nutter. Also predeceasing her were aunts and uncles, Spera and Frank Sallustio, Theresa and Nicholas Collins, Vera and Joseph Htlaky, Linda and Roy Crowe, Mary Rita and Angelo Ambrosetti, Alba and Conrad Toepke, and Inez and Frederick H. Martin Sr. Another who preceded her in death was Nancy Stow's husband, Kent.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 6-8pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
