Mary Owen McGuire (Nee Ely), 94, a 40 year resident of Severna Park, died on November 12, 2013, of natural causes, at Lorien Nursing Home in Bel Air, MD.
She was born on January 1, 1919 in Philadelphia, PA, where she was raised, and married her husband, Alfred McGuire on June 26, 1946.

Mary was a Bookkeeper for Strawbridge's and Hecht Company and was a homemaker.

She was with the USO during WWII , a Den mother for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, and she loved cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred K. McGuire.

Mary is survived by her sons, Alfred Kash McGuire of Annapolis, MD and Edwin Arthur McGuire of Bel Air, MD; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Martin's in-the-Field Episcopal Church, 375 Benfield Road, Severna Park on Monday, November 18th at 1:30 pm.
