Mary Lou Mason, 89, of Severna Park, died of natural causes May 5 at Future Care-Chesapeake in Arnold after a brief illness.

A homemaker who was born May 17, 1916, and reared in Lydia, Texas, Mrs. Mason formerly lived in McAlester, Okla., and Oklahoma City before moving to Severna Park five years ago.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Oklahoma City where she volunteered for Mobile Meals. In Severna Park she was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church and helped with Meals on Wheels.

She also volunteered with The Caring Collection, which makes and sells stained glass angels and sun catchers to benefit oncology research. Her interests included sewing, quilting, knitting and gardening.

Her husband, Murrice A. Mason, died Dec. 9, 1994.

Surviving are a daughter, Verna Mason Galloway of Severna Park; a son, Murrice E. Mason of The Villages, Fla.; a brother, Robert Hardman of Brownsville, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City at a later date. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
