Mary Ashley Lunden, 87, of Arnold, died of natural causes Oct. 29 at Kernan Hospital in Baltimore after a brief illness.
Born July 16, 1918, and reared in Charlottesville, Va., Mrs. Lunden previously lived in Baltimore. She moved to Arnold in 1957 and worked for the Department of Defense at Fort George G. Meade.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park. Her interests included birds and bird watching, reading and gardening.
Her husband, John H. Lunden Jr., died April 24, 1980. She was the sister of the late Stanley and Luther Thomas.
Surviving are two daughters, Shawn Lathroum of Arnold and Terri Leigh Boyle of Slate- dale, Pa.; one brother, Wilbur Thomas of Charlottesville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with burial at a later date in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
