Mary Bittner Lidard, 83, of Annapolis, died suddenly January 3, 2014 at University of Maryland Medical Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Madeline Bittner. Born on December 14, 1930, she was raised in the Hamilton area of Baltimore City. She graduated from the Institute of Notre Dame in 1949. On February 2, 1951, she married the love of her life, the late Kenneth F. Lidard. Together for 51 years, they raised five children. She is survived by her two daughters: Linda Rzepkowski and Anne Liebig, and her three sons: Larry, Gary, and Kenny Lidard. She enjoyed wonderful times with her fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two sisters: Margaret Bittner and Patricia Barnaba, and her brother Al Bittner. Mary was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

She was an active member of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church. She volunteered as an Eucharistic minister. She also was involved on the social committee, worked with the Winter Relief Program and volunteered with My Brother's Pantry. Mary also enjoyed traveling, gardening, organizing parties, and socializing with family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2014, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, Annapolis. Burial will immediately follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Andrew by the Bay Church at the address listed above.
