Mary Howison, 84, died of natural causes on December 12, 2009 at her home in Arnold, MD.

She was born on October 15, 1925 in Black Earth, Wisconsin, where she was raised. She attended Vermont Township School and Mount Horeb High School. She married her late husband Richard S. Howison on May 17, 1947.

Mrs. Howison's past residences include Madison, WI, Arlington, VA, Arbutus, MD. She was a bookkeeper for local businesses including; Dawson's Store, The Cottage, Arthur's, and Rick Shane Hair Salon. Her memberships included St. John the Evangelist Church Sodality. She enjoyed reading, knitting and people.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Howison Barr of Annapolis, four sons; Gregory Howison of Dallas, TX, Stephen Howison of Arnold, Michael Howison of Glen Burnie, and James Howison of Arnold, and one sister, Margaret Merklein of Mount Horeb, WI,
Mrs. Howison is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church on Wednesday at 10am. Interment at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146
