Mary Lucille "Lucy" Hoover (nee Meade), 76, a resident of Arnold, died on February 23, 2012 at her home in Arnold from complications from a stroke.
She was born on September 4, 1935 in Barnesville, Ohio and was raised in Cheverly, MD, graduating from Bladensburg High School.
She worked as an associate at Montgomery Wards in Annapolis and was a homemaker.
Mary enjoyed gardening and was a member of T.O.P.S; member of Girls Scouts of America, starting as a girl scout and later becoming a leader; and member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles E. Hoover of Arnold; one daughter, Deborah S. Schulze of Montross, VA; two sons, Charles R. Hoover of Elbert, CO and David K. Hoover of Arnold; grandchildren, William L. Schulze (Paula), Stephen Hoover, Jesse Hoover, Christopher Schulze, Jason Schulze, Christine Schulze, Brendan Schulze, Andrew Schulze, Skylar Hoover, Logan Hoover, and Gavin Hoover; sister, Carolyn Meade of Edgewater; and brother, Richard Meade of Riva.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, February 26th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146 and on Monday from 10:30-11:00am at Asbury United Methodist Church, 78 Church Road, Arnold, MD 21012. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be in Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
