Mary Helzer

Mary McIntyre Helzer, 77, a resident of Arnold for 32 years, died of natural causes June 7 at Spa Creek Center.

Mrs. Helzer was born July 30, 1930, in Schenectady, N. Y., where she was raised. She had a summer residence for 50 years in Broadalbin, N.Y. She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Rochester.

She was a retired legal secretary, working for her husband's law practice.

She belonged to the "Questers" group and was a member of Historic Annapolis and Arnold Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 40 years, Charles W. Helzer, who died in 1993.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Helzer Mendelsohn of Burtonsville and Sandy Helzer Wilson of Arnold; and five grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Interment will be private.
