Mary Louise Hancock (nee Mathias), 87, a resident of Severna Park, died on June 16, 2013 at Sunrise of Severna Park.

She was born on October 16, 1925 in Westminster, MD, where she was raised and graduated from Westminster High School. She married in 1947 and earned her Nursing degree from the Church Home Nursing School in Baltimore. Mary lived in Hyattsville and College Park before her family came to Severna Park in 1980.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie for over 30 years.

Mary enjoyed Bible Study, reading, gardening, puzzles, baking, and participating in Red Hat Society events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow L. Hancock, who died in 1983 and her son, John William Hancock, who died in 2008.
She is survived by her two sons, Woodrow S. Hancock and Charles L. Hancock; and five grandchildren, Kristen Shoemaker, Lauren Holbrook, Erin Haneline, Kaitlin Rose, and Charles "Charlie" Hancock. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, 4:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 308 Oak Manor Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Private interment will be in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
