Mary Gonet, 88, died of respiratory failure on October 26, 2008, at Sunrise Senior Living in Severna Park, where she had been a resident for the past two years.

Mrs. Gonet was born Mary Maxwell on June 21, 1920 in Baltimore, MD and was raised in Canton. She graduated from Seton High School. Mrs. Gonet was a longtime resident of Dundalk, MD and lived in Pasadena prior to moving to Severna Park.

Mrs. Gonet worked for the City of Baltimore for 10 years as an Insurance Claims Processor. She was a member of Saint Rita's Church in Baltimore, St. Jane Frances de Chantal Church in Pasadena, Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church in Pasadena, and Saint John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park. She enjoyed traveling and loved cats.

Mrs. Gonet is survived by her daughter, Paulette Matthews of Elverson, PA, as well as, eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Marie Maxwell; her husband, Norman E. Gonet; her daughter, Norma Miller; and her siblings, Evelyn Srebrowski, Owen Maxwell and Irvin Maxwell, Jr.

A visitation will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:30-12noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1pm at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Pasadena with interment to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Baltimore.
