Mary H. Gleason (age 100) passed peacefully at Pear Tree House Assisted Living in Pasadena, Maryland on December 5, 2022.

Mary grew up in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania where she attended Shenandoah Catholic High School and graduated as salutatorian in 1940. She moved to Washington, D.C., shortly after high school to work as a secretary for the War Department. A long-time resident of Maryland, Mary raised her seven children in District Heights before moving with her husband, Raymond, to Severna Park in 1991.

She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed reading novels, solving crossword puzzles, vacationing in Ocean City, sweets, spending time and conversing with family and friends, and sweets.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and eldest son, Cornelius "Neal".

She is survived by six children: Ellen, John (Sue Ann), Patrick (Colleen), Nancy Krejci (David), Kathleen Kirtley (Chip), Thomas (Stacia), and Neal's wife, Letitia, five grandchildren: Tierney Youngling (David), Colin Orr (Kimberly), Marlee Orr, Jacob Kirtley, and Thomas Gleason, and four great-grandchildren: Kiera Youngling, Kyla Youngling, Lucas Orr, and Wesley Orr.

Family and friends may visit on Tuesday December 13, 2022 from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service to follow at 12:00pm at the Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
