Mary Michael Foster Johns, 64, of Baltimore and formerly of Severna Park, died of natural causes Dec. 11 at her daughter's home in Severna Park after a long illness.

Mrs. Johns was born Sept. 11, 1940, and raised in Baltimore and lived in White Marsh for 14 years. She graduated from St. Matthew's and Towson Catholic High schools and then attended Anne Arundel Community College.

She worked as an executive secretary for Gould, Martin Marietta and Lippincott, Williams and Wilkens.

She was active in the alumni associations of her elementary and high schools and served as a board member of a condominium association.

The daughter of the late Richard I. and Elizabeth Butler Foster, she was the grandmother of the late Katie McDonald.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth MacDonald of Denton and Suzie Shields of Severna Park; one son, Jay Johns of Kent Island; one sister, Elizabeth Marquardt of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Richard Foster of Springfield, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Ritchie Highway and Cypress Creek Road, Severna Park. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
