Mary W. Day, 80, a resident of Severna Park, died suddenly December 04, 2008 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, due to heart failure.

She was born Mary W. Hicks on October 05, 1928 in Barboursville, WV to the late William and Anna Hicks. She graduated from Barboursville High School.
She married her husband, John S. Day on August 31, 1946.

Mrs. Day was employed as a bookkeeper for Owen's Illinois Glass Company for 18 years.

She enjoyed duckpin bowling and playing bridge and was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William E. Hicks, Glen C. Hicks and John Robert Hicks and two sisters, Jean E. Meyers and Bess Virginia Ray

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John S. Day of Severna Park; son, John S. Day II (wife -Elizabeth) of Oak Hill, VA; daughter, Jacqueline Day Harvey (husband- Barry) of Sharptown, MD; two grandchildren, Sean P. Day and Caitlin E. Day; two sisters Celina Cook (husband- Dewey)- Huntington, WV and Suzanna Miller (husband- Mike) of Craigsville, WV; two brothers, Charles Hicks (wife- Eloise) of Hinesville, GA and Benny Hicks of Hawaii. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Loretta Hicks.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, December 7 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park.
A Funeral Service will be held in West Virginia.
