Mary D'Anna, 92 of the Chartwell Community in Severna Park died of natural causes at Genesis Nursing Center in Severna Park on August 26, 2008.
Mrs. D'Anna was born on June 29, 1916 in Akron, OH where she was also raised. Born to the late Michael and Tille Myczkoski, she married Peter W. D'Anna on July 8th 1950. Mrs. D'Anna and her husband then moved to Buffalo, NY, followed by Middletown, OH and then to Ann Arbor, MI before moving to Severna Park where they have resided for the past 45 years.
Mrs. D'Anna attended the Cleveland Institute of Art and Case Western Reserve University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. She was an art teacher in the Akron Public School System. She specialized in water color and metalry.
Mrs. D'Anna was a member of Chartwell Garden Club and Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church. She taught classes at the YWCA in Severna Park. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. D' Anna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Peter W. D'Anna; her daughter, Dorothy L. D'Anna of Gambrills, MD and son, Richard J. D'Anna of Glen Burnie, MD.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ann Williams, Julia Stephens, Jacob McKosky, John McKosky, and Paul McKosky.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am Friday at Our Lady of the Fields Church in Millersville. The interment will follow at the church cemetery.
