Born on August 21, 1922, in Haywood, North Carolina, Mary Sue was the eldest daughter of Dorothy Reeva Rogers and Hugh Howell. Mary Sue later moved to Howard County, Maryland, where her grandparents raised her on a farm. Among many chores, she was responsible for exercising the horses every morning before school. She was encouraged to work hard and get an education, an ethic that paid off throughout her life. Later in life, she would go on to work for 30 years at the University of Maryland Medical School and then pursue a career at the CIA, uncommon roles for women of her generation. She accomplished all that while also working tirelessly to raise a family, care for her ailing mother, and then later, her beloved husband Carl. Only a superhero could have accomplished what she did in almost 103 years.

Mary Sue is survived by her two grandchildren, Henry and Melinda, one niece, Dañel, two sons-in-law, Grzegorz and Jorge, three great-grandchildren, Casey, Ethan & Ryan, and one great-great-grandchild, Samuel.

All services will be private.

Her steady hands once guided ours, but now rest in quiet grace.

Yet every step we take is lit by memories that time can't erase.

We carry forward what she taught - strength, humility, and an open heart.

A quiet legacy that speaks of her each day we stand apart.

Forever in our hearts and minds until the day we meet...
