She waited very patiently to hear Him call her name……

Mary Lou Brennan, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and Gigi, passed onto paradise on October 26, 2025, after a lengthy fight with Alzheimer's disease.

She came into the world in Batavia, New York, on May 7th 1935 to Mary and John Flanagan.  Her entire life was devoted to family, friends and her Catholic faith.  She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Joseph J. Brennan (2005) and a daughter, Kathleen (2019); her parents, Mary and John L. Flanagan, her brother and sister-in-law,  John D. and Angela Flanagan (Annapolis, MD); her sister and brother-in-law Katherine (Katy) and James Morgan (Auburn, NY); and sister-in-law Donna E. Flanagan (Maplewood, MN).

She was the ultimate domestic engineer, volunteering at schools, running bake sales and shepherding field trips. She picked up some  side-gigs as a banker, personal dresser, and her favorite volunteer work at Partners-in-Care, Hospice of the Chesapeake, where she was able to use both her selling and buying skills.

She was a charter member of the Annapolis Chapter of the LAOH, Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians, where she participated in all their charitable activities earning her picture in the newspaper frequently. She loved bowling and golf but her mastery at bridge kept her busy.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jo Jones, Joseph J. Brennan and Kevin M. (Kathy) Brennan; her grandchildren were her greatest pleasure – Melissa Jones, Megan (Michael) Panichello, Joseph P. (Julie Halpin) Brennan, Kelly A. (Cole Tasker) Brennan, Jenifer L. Burton, Amanda B. Brennan, Colleen M. Browne and Colin M. Brennan – but those great-grandchildren were her stars – Jason, Maddox, Brooke, Isaiah, Audrey, Olivia, Barrett, Hunter, Weston, Leni Christine, Chloe and Cooper. Included in her circle of love is a sister, Anne C. Wade (Auburn, NY) and brother, Michael J. Flanagan (Woodbury, MN), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 10:30 am in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

Interment will follow at 1:00 pm in St. Mary's Cemetery in Annapolis.
