Mary Josephine Blanchfield, who turned 100 years old on Feb. 26, died July 15 at her home in Severna Park.
Born in Baltimore, Mrs. Blanchfield was educated at St. Wenselaus School in Baltimore. She was employed at Schumann's Bakery.
Mrs. Blanchfield was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Department and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Her interests included reading, growing flowers and vegetables in her garden, baking and spending time with her family.
She was married to John Blanchfield and later divorced.
Surviving are nine children, Gertrude J. Young of Severn, John G. Blanchfield of Cambridge, Marie A. Marshall of Glen Burnie, Philip J. Blanchfield and Margaret A. Hill of Pasadena, Dorothy F. Hubbard and Patricia L. Brown of Stevensville, Gilbert F. Blanchfield of Mount Airy and Robert J. Blanchfield of Severna Park; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Leonard J. Blanchfield.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie.
