Mary Louise Blakely, 80, a resident of Elkridge, MD, died on February 9, 2014, at Glynn Taff Assisted Living in Catonsville.
She was born on November 19, 1933 in Baltimore, raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Southern High School.
Mary managed an apartment building, did secretarial work, worked in the record department at Hochschild Kohn's, was a private investigator for an insurance company, worked in sales at Montgomery Wards Department Store and was employed with Casual Corner Store. She also volunteered at St. Agnes Hospital in the gift shop.
Mary was a member of St. Augustine Church. She loved animals, especially dogs, and was a member of SPCA. She also loved and collected movies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Christina Butschky, her husband, Dr. John G. Blakely; and her son, Stephen Tillman.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Blakely of Elkridge; one granddaughter, Teresa Tillman; one great-granddaughter, Jazmine; one brother, John Butschky of Severna Park, and one sister Christina Janus of Fallston.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, February 17, 2014 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 6:00 pm-7:30 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, with a funeral service to begin at 7:30 pm, following the visitation. Interment will be private.
