Mary Barchanowicz
Mary Dorothy Ryan Barchanowicz, 57, died of breast cancer July 26 at her Severna Park home after an illness of four years.
Born April l5, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Barchanowicz was the daughter of the late William Patrick and Dorothy Elizabeth O'Bryan Ryan.
She worked in the commercial insurance industry with Aetna Life and Casualty Co., and retired earlier this year with Companion of South Carolina where she was a senior marketing representative for the Maryland area.
Mrs. Barchanowicz was a gardener and artist who enjoyed painting and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Barchanowicz, whom she married June 13, 1969; one daughter, Sarah Mandell; one brother, J. Duane Ryan of Monroeville, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
