Martha Conker White, 63, an 18-year resident of Severna Park, died of congestive heart failure May 4 at North Arundel Hospital.
Mrs. White was born Aug. 31, 1940, and raised in Charleston, W.Va. She graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1962 and subsequently took graduate work at Johns Hopkins University and Loyola College of Maryland.
She taught at the Gibson Island Country School and retired from the Howard County public school system after 18 years.
She lived in the community of North Shore in Pasadena prior to Severna Park. Her interests included her grandchildren and reading.
Surviving are her sister, Mary Conker of Severna Park; one daughter, Kristina Hemmings of Severn; two sons, Joel White of Pasadena and Eric White of Severna Park; and three grandchildren.
She was the daughter of the late Kathryn and Edward Conker and had a deceased granddaughter.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in Meadowridge Memorial Gardens in Elkridge.
