Mark L. Bender, 62, of Severna Park, Maryland passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Mark lived a life full of love, generosity, and dedication to family and friends.

He was born in Baltimore, MD to Bernadette M. Bender and the late Edward R. Bender. Mark resided in the Carrollton Manor community of Severna Park for more than 50 years.

Surviving is his wife, Roxane Brown Bender and son, Michael J. Bender, and daughter-in-law, Ashley N. Bender. Also surviving is his brother Alan Bender and family Mayko, Mica, Noa, and Sage Bender, along with his sister Alison Bender and her daughter Sara Carr and son Justin Carr and family Jessica, Mason, Sean, and Sophia, and his uncle Michael Bender.

Family and friends may visit on Friday March 27, 2026 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church 1070 Cecil Ave. Millersville, MD 21108.

n lieu of flowers, the family has set up a designated CMIA community Certificate of Deposit account to accept donations to be utilized for environmental erosion control work to the three beach properties owned and maintained by the CMIA community and provide valuable support for ongoing and future preservation efforts (directly benefiting the Severn River). Payment may be made by check payable to CMIA (include “In Memory of Mark Bender” in the memo line) and mail to CMIA c/o Mark Bender Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1104, Severna Park, MD 21146. Mark will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
