Marjorie Eleanor (Stevens) Welch, resident of Severna Park died peacefully on December 25 at her home. Born October 12, 1926 in Glen Burnie, MD she attended Glen Burnie High School class of 1944
Marge worked at the Fort Meade Headquarters, 2nd Army, Fort Meade Comptroller's Office.
Marge married her sweetheart, James Franklin Welch on November 8, 1947 and started their life in Glen Burnie and moved to Severna Park in 1960 to raise their 3 daughters. She was member of the original congregation of Severna Park United Methodist Church
Marge was a creative artist who enjoyed oil painting, crafts with her 9 grandchildren, decorating her home, especially at Christmas. She had a compassionate spirit who spent many hours writing notes and sending cards to loved ones far and near. She was an avid baker who enjoyed making homemade coconut cakes, rolls, and pies.
She is survived by: 3 Daughters, Cheryl L. Hancock, Woodrow S Hancock, Gail L. Curtis, Carol A. Washington, Keith W. Washington, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and her sister, Mary S. Hildebrand.
Friends may visit on Monday December 29, 2014 from 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Severna Park United Methodist Church 731 Benfield Road Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment in Baldwin United Methodist Church Cemetery, Millersville, MD.
