Marjorie Flinchum, 88, a resident of Severna Park, died on May 30, 2013. Mrs. Flinchum was born May 28, 1925 in Virginia to the late Clarence and Gladys Drummond. She was raised in Dolphin, VA and moved to Arnold, MD in 1954 before settling in Severna Park.
She worked for the Virginia Telephone Company as an operator, credit manager and accountant. She also worked for the Butler Lumber, WT Grant, Talman Office Supply, Evening Capital, Baldwin Service Center, Antique Barn-Owner and Magothy Marina. Mrs. Flinchum was a member of the Notary Public from age 18-84, AA County Police Community Relations Council – founding member, Soroptimist Club, Manhattan Beach Civic Assoc, Annapolis Business Credit Association, Severna Park Health Center, Earleigh Heights Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary, Magothy River Association, Honorary member of the Boy Scouts of America, and Charity Ball Hostess of the Glen Burnie Elks. She was also listed in Foremost Women in the World of Communications and Two Thousand Women of Achievement.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; Cecil Emory House and Allen Jones Flinchum, Jr., her brother, C.A. Drummond and her sisters; Bea McCall, Sophie Barkley and Jessie Roberts.
Survivors include her children; Marion Elain House of Linthicum and Allen Jones Flinchum III of Severna Park, her brothers; Francis, Albertis and Leroy Drummond, and grandchild, Evann Rebecca Flinchum.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a service on Tuesday at 11am at the Mausoleum at Hillcrest Cemetery, 1911 Forest Drive in Annapolis, MD
