In Loving Memory of Marjanik Drorian

With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Marjanik Drorian, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished wife of the late Arshalous Drorian.

At 98 years old, after 65 years of marriage, four children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, our beloved Metsmam has reunited with our Metsbap.

Born in Esfahan, Iran, Marjanik built a life rooted in faith, resilience, and above all, family. She immigrated to the United States in the 1990s and spent the remainder of her years in Maryland, where she continued to create the warm, welcoming home that had always been at the center of her life.

Marjanik is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Vahan Simchian and Elso and Edik Sakian. She was a proud grandmother to Vigen Simchian, Arsine Sakian, and Elma King, and a devoted great-grandmother to Leta and Abel King.

To know Marjanik was to know someone who was always in motion. She was rarely one to sit still. A natural caregiver and homemaker, she found joy in caring for those she loved. Meals were prepared well in advance so no one would ever go hungry. Clothes were lovingly mended rather than discarded. Crocheting, sewing, fashion, and personal style brought her happiness, and she had a gift for making ordinary things beautiful. She delighted in retelling family stories, preserving memories that connected generations, and she and our grandfather shared a lifetime of affectionate bickering that became part of the soundtrack of our family.

Even in her later years, one of the hardest parts of aging for Marjanik was slowing down. Her energy, determination, and desire to care for others remained with her until the very end.

The greatest lesson Marjanik leaves behind is not found in any one accomplishment, but in the way she lived her life. She showed us that a life centered on family is a life well lived. She measured success not by possessions or recognition, but by full tables, well-loved children, strong family bonds, and showing up every day for the people she loved.

Her passing leaves an immeasurable void, but her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the traditions she preserved, the stories she told, and the love she gave so freely. We will miss her laughter, her strength, her endless energy, and the comforting certainty that she was always there.

Though it is difficult to imagine our family without her, we find peace in knowing she is finally at rest and reunited with her beloved husband and late sons, Hovik and Gregory Drorian.

May her memory always be a blessing.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 2 pm in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
