Marina Wright was surrounded by family on July 16, 2024 when she passed away in her home following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on February 21, 1957 in Lima, Peru to parents Marino Pino and Victoria Medrano de Pino.

Earning her Bachelor's degree in Economics at Inca Garcilazco de la Vega University, she played on the volleyball team and excelled. In 1990 she migrated to the USA with her two daughters, Andrea & Angelica, settling down in Herndon, VA. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish MPM Services, where she thrived as a translator and tax consultant. She was not only a dedicated professional but a compassionate soul, providing social services to underprivileged communities and contributing her time and efforts as a volunteer on Team Hope with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Mavi, as friends knew her, found love again in 2006 with Thomas Wright. They got married on February 13, 2011 and settled down in Arnold, MD. She had a zest for life and a passion for travelling; her two favorite places were Egypt and Hawaii (where they spent their honeymoon). She enjoyed all things outdoors including gardening, dancing, pickleball, and of course volleyball.

Marina leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and love. She is survived by her husband – Tom, her daughters – Andrea and Angelica, her granddaughter – Reya, and siblings – Ana, Silvia, and Martin. She will be deeply missed by all her countless friends whose lives she enriched with her vibrant spirit and unwavering generosity. Her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter touched all who knew her.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday July 27th at 12pm at Barranco Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park MD, 21146.
